The park council, which has not convened since the time of its foundation in 2014, is slated actively to participate in the life of Montjuïc from now on. The council is intended to approve the introduction of new ideas related to education, culture, and sports in the park. The reinstated council has begun its work with a plan to restructure park matters according to the following newly-defined groups: residence, culture, sports, leisure, tourism, urban ecology, and mobility.
Moreover, during the second half of this year, the council members intend to grant access to the park renovation process to all interested city residents from adjacent districts as well as various groups and associations in the city.
The park of Montjuïc is known for the diversity of its sites and the attractions it offers visitors. Additionally, it is considered a self-sufficient city district and therefore bears the title of “special zone.”
