The first concert in the European portion of the tour will take place on November 8, in Koln, Germany. Shakira’s series of concerts in Spain will open with a show in Bilbao on November 17, followed by a concert on November 19 in Madrid, and another on November 23 in La Coruña. The final concert in Spain is scheduled for November 25 in Barcelona, the home city of Shakira’s husband, Gerard Pique. Very soon the tickets will be available for purchase from the website Live Nation through the networks of Ticketmaster and El Corte Inglés.
El Dorado, Shakira’s eleventh studio album, was released in May and debuted in first position on iTunes in 37 countries. In addition, the album was instantaneously included on the top-10 album charts in Argentina, Austria, France, Spain, and Switzerland, and was ranked #2 in the US Top Latin Albums ranking and #15 on the Billboard 200. The first single in support of the album, called Chantaje, has become a worldwide success. This song topped Hot Latin Songs Billboard for 11 weeks in a row and was a platinum single 16 times. It is worth mentioning that other compositions on the album have acquired vast commercial success as well. Among the most renowned are La Bicicleta, Me Enamoré, and Déjà vu. As a whole, El Dorado has garnered five platinum certifications.
