How to get an NIE in Spain
According to Spanish legislation, if you decide to purchase real estate or a car, register a business, or carry out another financial operation, then you must get an NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjero: Foreigner Identification Number). The NIE is a combination of 2 letters and 7 digits used to identify a foreign citizen living in Spain.
